The girls' team from Joliot-Curie-Gymnasium celebrated another great success on Tuesday, March 10, 2026: With their victory at the "Jugend trainiert für Olympia" state final in Zwickau, the players secured their ticket to the national final in Berlin for the third time in a row. Full of energy, team spirit and determination, the schoolgirls battled against the best teams in Saxony - and impressed across the board.

The girls showed their strength in their very first match against Adolph-Diesterweg-Gymnasium Plauen, winning by a clear 25:4. They also left no stone unturned against Franziskaneum Gymnasium Meißen, winning 23:14. The team then confidently beat H.-Arendt-Gymnasium Markranstädt (24:15). The final game against Gymnasium Marienberg was particularly exciting: After leading 6:5 at half-time, the JCG girls fought their way through and eventually won 15:6.

The players were proud to receive the trophy without defeat - a great success for the team and the Joliot-Curie-Gymnasium.
