MiWi Seminar
On June 3, our Student Council participated in the “Participation with Impact” seminar organized by the German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS). The goal of the seminar was to deepen our understanding of the work of the student council and to strengthen our collaboration as a student council.
Throughout the day, we took an in-depth look at the rights, responsibilities, and duties of the student council. We also explored the various school committees and their respective roles, as well as the relationships between them. This helped us develop a better understanding of how student participation works at our school and the opportunities we have to get actively involved.
Another focus of the seminar was a conflict resolution model. Together, we discussed various issues within the student council (such as the insufficient involvement of younger class representatives) and developed ways to resolve conflicts constructively and respectfully. The discussions within the group allowed us to explore different perspectives and learn from one another.
In addition to the technical content, getting to know one another was also a central focus. Through various icebreaker games and interactive exercises, we were able to grow closer as a team and strengthen our collaboration within the Student Council. In addition, we took a closer look at individual committees and discussed their working methods and significance.
Overall, the seminar was very informative and varied. We gained many new insights, improved our teamwork, and took away helpful ideas for our future work on the student council.
