Opportunities for structural development...
As part of a project day on the topic of "Opportunities for structural development" at the Joliot-Curie-Gymnasium Görlitz on Tuesday, 60 pupils from year 9 were given a comprehensive insight into the work of SAS as well as the activities of CASUS (Center for Advanced Systems Understanding) and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the "CircEcon" project (Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Neutral Circular Economy).
In three varied workshops, the young people had the opportunity to take an in-depth look at pioneering innovations from the region and be inspired by the enthusiasm of the scientists involved. Janine Schreiber from CASUS: "Simulations are an extremely important tool at CASUS. Our example from cancer research visibly impressed the students." Erik Schulze from the HSZG adds: "The circular economy is fun! In addition to the technological impetus, however, it also requires the will of the players to cultivate it."
The workshops and project presentations were based on our touring exhibition on the central future topics within the structural change in Saxony, in particular energy, health, circular economy & bioeconomy and mobility & IT. The touring exhibition makes the developments surrounding structural change in Saxony visible and highlights exciting career prospects for the younger generation.
"We are delighted that SAS has given our pupils an insight into structural development projects for the second time. As a grammar school, we see it as our task to train the skilled workers of tomorrow and at the same time show them career prospects in their home region," says Headmistress Vanessa Grinszek-Kebsch.
