12th flight of stairs
The 12th stair run at the Joliot-Curie-Gymnasium is history. After the cancellations in the two corona years, participation was very low last year. Thanks to the help of the 12th grade with the organization, a new record number of participants (97 starters) was achieved this time. The largest starting field was made up of the 5th grade. Siblings, parents and this time even five teachers took on the challenge of the 130 steps and long school corridors. The youngest runners were born in 2020, the oldest in 1962.
Once they reached the finish line, they were given a warm cup of tea and a certificate of participation at the award ceremony. The three fastest runners over the short and long distances also received a small runner's trophy, a cheque from the sports store Muskelkater and prizes. These were provided by the school's support association.
In memory of the co-organizer Ulf Zippel, who passed away in spring, the stair run was renamed the "Ulf Zippel Memorial Run".
