Student Council
An honorary committee of the JCG
We, the student council, are a voluntary committee of the JCG, currently consisting of 15 students from grades 8-12 and 4 teachers, who work in their free time to organize and improve everyday school life at the JCG. We have been working in this composition since the 2023/2024 school year, meeting once a month to consider, discuss and plan (new) projects.
In the first year, we have already been able to initiate a number of projects, including becoming a climate school with a healthy fruit break, waste separation and cooperation with the city as part of the "App an die Wurzel" project. Other projects implemented to date include the provision of free toiletries and the organization of giveaway bazaars.
The Student Council is also responsible for organizing the youth solidarity project Genial Sozial with information events in the classes and recruiting new partner companies.
Further activities are planned for the coming years: the installation of a drinking fountain, the installation of a solar system, an insect hotel on Wilhelmsplatz and heat protection in the summer, class trips by public transport only, green facades and roofs.
We are always happy to receive new ideas, requests or creative impulses for the student council as well as new members!
